The City of American Fork is located between Salt Lake City and Provo, Utah, and is known by many for the majestic Canyon nearby that shares the City’s name. With only 28,000 residents, American Fork boasts exceptional recreation through its 28 City parks, boat harbor entrance to Utah Lake, a year-round tournament-size swimming pool, a well-established fitness center, exceptional hiking and biking trails, and quick access to the Timpanogos Cave, Tibble Fork Canyon, Mary Ellen Gulch, and other fishing and camping spots just minutes from the City.

American Fork is part of the ’Silicon Slopes,’ the dynamic technology center in the middle of Utah's Wasatch Front, which houses technology corporate headquarters for Adobe (in nearby Lehi), Domo, Orange Soda and Marketechture. American Fork is also home to corporations that are retail-product leaders, including ThermoWorks, Xlear, Morinda and GoldTip. American Fork has a number of healthcare and wellness companies as well. Intermountain Healthcare’s American Fork Hospital is located here, with its state-of-the art surgical center. The hospital is the largest in Northern Utah County. The modern facility has 204,000 square feet with more than 100 beds, eight operating rooms, and 21 emergency rooms.

American Fork is a leader in Northern Utah County for its efforts in protecting the environment, preserving water rights, and in preserving a quality of life that is rich with traditional family values. Among the City’s well-known arts institutions is the nationally known American Fork High School Marching Band, which has performed at the Macy’s Day parade three times. The City has a rich heritage in music and the performing arts, as is shown in the active schedule of the American Fork Symphony, American Fork Children’s Choir, Wasatch Winds performing troupe, the private arts High School, Pioneer High School for the Arts, and more.

The City has a thriving retail center, called The Meadows, that is conveniently located between the City’s I-15 exit and Main Street corridor, along which is Bank of American Fork/People’s Utah Bancorp, Utah’s largest community bank with 14-full-services branches in Utah. The City has a UTA FrontRunner Commuter Station, within the City limits, within minutes of downtown and shopping.
