PURPOSE

The finance department provides budget, purchasing, accounting, payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable services as well as providing funding direction and management of financial resources for the city.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Mission of the finance department is to sustain the City’s financial solvency; facilitate growth in American Fork through the effective and efficient management of resources and processes; manage and protect the City’s financial resources by applying generally accepted accounting and investment principles; influence the future of City government through ethical and effective service, to insure the integrity of the financial information needed for decision making; and by providing quality financial information to allow for the implementation of effective policy, management, stewardship and program decisions.

American Fork City’s independent auditors recently presented the City Council the audit for fiscal year ending June 30, 2009.  The independent auditor’s opinion was that the financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of the governmental activities, business-type activities, each major fund and the aggregate remaining fund information of the City as of June 30, 2009.  To review the independent audit, please click here.
