 February 2010 Minimize

Dear Citizens:

This February will see some fairly significant changes in the City of American Fork.

A management team consisting of the promotion of two new full time Captains as well as the redistribution of work to a new administrative assistant position will help the new 24 hour coverage deliver a more consistent level of service. This month 5 new dorms are being completed and bids for two new ambulances will be distributed. The means by which members are notified for a call has also been enhanced with the simultaneous confirmation of the pager notification with cell phone texting. New surface Ice Rescue capability is also coming on line just in time for the tremendous potential that early spring ice fishing brings to our response area. Working with a combination department brings to the community the best of both worlds. We have the consistency of coverage with the depth of knowledge and sense of community. As I work with these fine men and women it makes very proud of the dedication and professionalism they consistently portray.

Thank you,

Chief Garcia
