DEPARTMENT MISSION STATEMENT:

American Fork Fire/Rescue Department will provide the highest level of emergency services that our resources will allow to the citizens of our community. We are committed to excellence in the delivery of these services through goals such as:

  • Support and serve community through public education
  • Ongoing training to improve individules safety and skills
  • Continue improving our methods by implementing new technology and procuring enhanced equipment.
  • Encourage all to create "UNITY".

American Fork Fire/Rescue over the past three years have become a combination department, with the hiring of (4) full-time firefighter/EMT-I personnel, and (8) part-time firefighter/EMT-I, which make up A shift and B shift for day coverage. Also in 2009 we have staffed Paramedic/Rescue program, with (2) paramedics at our station 24/7. Currently Fire/Rescue personnel total 74, and are made up of full-time, part-time and volunteer paid personnel.

CPR Training Update - Friday, January 29, 2010

Just a reminder that American Fork Fire/Rescue offers CPR and First-Aid courses to the community.  These courses are available to anyone, including youth groups, and health care professionals needing to recertify.  A date for these courses will be announced on a monthly basis.  All of this information can be viewed on the link to the left of this website labeled "CPR/First-aid".  Please use the contact information on that link if you have any questions or special requests.  Thank you for your interest.

 
Chief's Message - Tuesday, January 26, 2010

Members of the community may be interested in a new section of our website which was added a few months ago.  This would be our "Chief's Message" section of the website, found on the links to the left of the homepage.  Each month Chief Garcia shares with the community a message regarding fire saftey, or gives updates regarding current events in the community or department as it pertains to Fire/Rescue.

 
Thanksgiving Fire Safety - Saturday, November 21, 2009

Firefighters across the nation would like to bring to your attention the dangers of the upcoming holiday.  Thanksgiving is the day where most home cooking fires take place.  The National Fire Protection Association advocates cooks stand by the stove as they cook and to be aware of what is cooking at all times. Fire Danger - Saturday, August 22, 2009

With the season of hot, dry weather among us there is an increased risk of fire danger.  This summer Utah firefighters have seen many field and structure fires which may have been prevented.  Firefighters urge citizens to use common sense in their decision making.  KSL recently had an article about this problem.  You may access the article by clicking "read more" below.
