I-15 Interchange at American Fork Main Street:
All northbound motorists exiting I-15 have been diverted onto a new temporary off-ramp. The old ramp is closed and crews are removing the pavement and will install settlement drains and embankment in this area. With this new access point, please pay close attention to all signs and lane markings.

Embankment work west of the on-ramp to southbound I-15 is complete. Crews will begin building a temporary on-ramp to northbound I-15.

Utility crews are installing a 20-inch gas line from the area west of the Doug Smith dealership through the entrance into the Alpine Valley Center (Target business area).

July 18-23: The right-in, right-out access into the business area west of Kawakami Drive will be closed while crews install the gas line. Motorists will need to use Kawakami Drive.

Crews have assembled the rebar structures for the underlying supports for the bridge columns. Beginning the week of July 20, these structures will be set into place and concrete poured at night. During this work, I-15 will be restricted to two lanes in each direction from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday. Motorists should expect moderate travel delays. This work will continue into August.

Construction of two bridge segments for the south half of the interchange is underway. Girders are being constructed off-site and will be delivered in August. Once the bridge segments are completed, they will be moved into place early fall 2009.

At the Main Street interchange, please use caution when exiting and entering the interstate and expect slight travel delays as trucks, heavy equipment and construction crews are working nearby. Flaggers are posted to guide motorists through the construction area.

I-15 Travel Lane Changes: The travel lanes along I-15 at the interchange to American Fork Main Street have been narrowed to 11 feet and shifted to the outside to allow crews to build the center pier for the new interchange bridge. The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph. Please remember, fines for speeding violations are doubled in construction zones.

Mill Pond Road Area:
North Area - Motorists have been diverted onto the detour road and the old road has been removed. Crews continue to stabilize the soil for the new bridge in the area north of the railroad tracks.

Installation of a 42-inch sewer line along Main Street between Mill Pond Road and I-15 continues. Beginning July 27, 1020 West will be closed for approximately one week during this work. Crews will also install irrigation lines in this area. Motorists should anticipate slight travel delays. Flaggers will be posted to guide traffic through the area. This work will continue through mid-August.

South Area - Settlement drain installation continues for the new bridge.

Mill Pond Road south of the intersection of 8020 North in Lehi (south of the UPRR tracks) remains closed until December 2009. Area residents traveling north and south in this area can use 200 South to 300 West in American Fork or 300 East to 700 South in Lehi as alternative routes.

300 East to Mill Pond Area:
Crews will clear the remaining area between 300 East and Mill Pond Road and build the construction access road. Utility installation continues. Motorists should anticipate slight travel delays due to equipment and crews working nearby. Flaggers will be posted to guide traffic through the area.

500 West to 300 East Area:
The construction access road has been built from 500 West to Center Street and crews are building the road from Center Street to 300 East. Utility work is underway at the intersection of 500 West. Toward the end of July, crews will begin to install the 60-inch waterline between 500 West and Center Street.

1100 West to 500 West Area:
Utility work (power) is underway. Beginning the last week of July, crews will cross 1100 West with the 60-inch waterline. A temporary detour road will be built to keep traffic moving around the area.

1700 West to 1100 West Area:
1700 West is closed through mid-August as crews install the 60-inch waterline and relocate other utility lines under the road. Motorists will be diverted to 2300 West during the closure. Crews are also relocating a sewer line between 1700 West and 1100 West

A second crew is installing another leg of the waterline from Dry Creek to 1100 West. Crews are also preparing the Dry Creek area for future utility lines and building the construction access road.

2300 West to 1700 West Area:
Installation of the 60-inch waterline in this area will be complete by July 24. Utility crews are installing traffic signal conduit and storm drain within this area.

Redwood Road to 2300 West Area:
Pile driving operations are complete at the west side of the Jordan River and crews will begin installing pilings at the east side. This work will be Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Residents near this area should anticipate some noise associated with this operation through the end of July.

Crews are building retaining walls west of 2300 West. This work will continue through the month of July.

Storm drain and signal conduit installation continues. Crews are placing road base through the area. Large dump trucks and other heavy equipment are accessing the project area at Redwood Road. Motorists traveling on Redwood Road should anticipate intermittent travel delays between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The Jordan River Parkway Trail remains closed approximately one-mile north of the trailhead at Wetlands Park in Saratoga Springs. Please do not attempt to cross through the work zone as there are large double-bellied dump trucks driving through the area. Trail users can access the trail at Willow Park in Lehi. This segment will re-open fall 2009.

General Project Information:
General work hours are between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For specific construction tasks there will be night work.
